We are continuing the process of replacing the table tops the the flying field. We are in the process of obtaining a small sample of road sign material to test. If the material is fuel resistant, or can be made so, we shall make arrangements to procure and install them. If not, well, on to plan B.
Well, not a party, really. Flying season is just around the corner and it's time to take a look out our rain soaked field and structures and see what needs to be done. Between now and next meeting, people should take stock of the field conditions and bring your ToDo lists to the April club meeting. We'll decide what we want to tackle and set up a time to do it.
Our illustrious VP Ed Kreusser met up with Jim Bourke, proud owner of the only Yak 54 flying in the United States. Jim has graciously offered to give club member an up close look at this acrobatic beauty which is stabled at the Corvallis airport. Ed is going to see if Jim, and a meeting room at the Corvallis airport are available for our April meeting. If so we will be having our April meeting at the Corvallis airport. If not, it will be at the usual place. Keep an eye on the website and next months Air Mailer to find out where the April meeting will be.
Most of us remember a couple of air shows the club put on at the West Hills Retirement home just west of Corvallis. Well, after a two year hiatus, it's back! The new management apparently found an old flier for one of the past events and would like us to do it again. Club members seem enthusiastic, and the West Hills residents were all smiles when we did it in the past, so we are going to try and do it again this summer. We will need some volunteers, but I don't thing that will be a problem. Dates for this and other events will be firmed up at our next meeting.
